W&W Hobbies has received information from W&R Enterprises on the "HO"
scale Northern Pacific 4-6-0 S-4 coming in three
versions. All models come
factory painted.
The NP Class S-4 4-6-0's were
some of the last locomotives to operate on the Northern Pacific. Over the years some, but not all, received a
power reverse. The power reverses were
installed from the mid 1940's all the way to 1952. Almost all were equipped with numberboards in 1948.
A few were equipped with flangers, and each
seemed to have its own distinct tender.
This is a locomotive long desired by the NP modelers.
Equipment includes numberboards,
power reverse, wood footboard pilot, Class 10E coal tender with high coal
boards on the sides. A

The model was one of the few 4-6-0's
to be equipped with a flanger on the lead truck and a
double pilot beam for clearance. Detailing
is without power reverse or numberboards, but with
low running boards mounted on the cylinders.
